A Governance Model Built on Accountability and Physician Voice

OECP is a democratic physician group. Our physician-led governance model encourages participation, accountability, and thoughtful decision-making about the future of the practice. This model gives physicians a meaningful voice and supports thoughtful, long-term stewardship of the organization.

Matt Stein

MD Board of Managers

Matt grew up in New Hampshire and earned his medical degree at Tufts University. He completed his residency at Madigan Army Medical Center and served seven years in the U.S. Army, including a combat deployment. His clinical interests include geriatrics, palliative care, and quality improvement. He and his family returned to Washington in 2023, choosing Olympia for its public schools and for ocean, mountains, snow, and an airport within 90 minutes. At home are two young children and a less-young dog named Adderall. Matt runs to the extent his knees allow, cooks to the extent his wife allows, and plays nerdy board games to the extent his schedule allows. He chose community medicine to practice at the top of his license and for the relationships he shares with consultants.

Kristen Larsen

MD

Kristen earned her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and completed her emergency medicine residency at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine. The Pacific Northwest drew her in with towering evergreens, deep forests, chanterelle season, abundant salmon, and steady rain, and she has come to appreciate the region's natural rhythm. Outside of medicine, she spends her time foraging, hiking, camping, and tending her garden. Kristen values the camaraderie within the group, the strong support from administration, and the welcoming small-town feel of Olympia — all of which make caring for this community especially meaningful.

Woody Green

MD

Woody is a board-certified emergency physician and partner with Olympia Emergency Care Physicians, practicing at both MultiCare Capital Medical Center and the Lacey off-campus Emergency Department. He completed medical school and residency at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin, finishing in 2023. His clinical interests center on critical care and point-of-care ultrasound. An avid hiker and paddler, he has finished the Texas Water Safari, a 260-mile nonstop canoe race, several times. What drew him to OECP was the people — after a larger academic center, he found a group where physicians, APPs, and nurses enjoy working together and feel connected to the community.

Alan Hans

MD

Alan grew up in small-town Northern California, where he discovered prehospital medicine as an undergraduate EMT. He commissioned into the Army, trained at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, and completed his emergency medicine residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. His final active-duty assignment brought him full circle — training the Army's paramedics — and deepened his interest in operational and tactical care. Outside of medicine, he runs, hikes, cooks with his spouse, and unwinds with audiobooks and games. Having lived all over, he appreciates the Pacific Northwest for its rain, greenery, and time outdoors with family. He values the dynamics of a small group and the close-knit community it serves.
